Hey McFly, you’re shoes are untied! (Back to the Future)

Marty McFly as the protagonist was named in the series “Back to the Future”. This movie series inspired 88′ Toyota Hilux Xtracab SR5 just won the 2012 Manila Auto Salon.

The original 22RE engine was brought out as a new 1KZT-E was swapped into it. Now, running from a gas to a diesel brought the “fly” in McFly as the power and torque of the stock 1KZT-E out matched the 22RE. And besides, its a diesel! Who wouldn’t want a diesel in the Philippines?

The differentials were running 4.88 gear ratios to drive the 36″ Super Swamper tires. (Its a 42″ tire on the photo) Tranny gearing were remained stock while the bell housing was coupled with the new engine.

The Rear diffs had ARB Air Lockers, while the front had Powertraxx Lock-Right. The muffler was designed by Mufflerland and most of the mechanical work was done by our friends from 112LC House (thanks to Richard Sy).

Future Update reminder: Buy the 1KD bell housing.

Thanks to all who worked on this truck, surely an experience to remember as the 2012 Manila Auto Salon was mostly filled with SUV’s and Pickup trucks!

Major Payne AKA “The Green Mitsubishi Triton”

As we gave 2012 Manila Auto Salon’s 2nd Place Best Pick Up category trophy to Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation’s Research and development team, we commemorate the most talked about rig in the show.

This Green Mitsubishi Strada Triton, nick named “Major Payne” boasts a 6″ Racetech Suspension lift kit with a long travel coil over at the front. The custom bumpers front and rear is surely an everyday armor as it is both aesthetic and purpose! The step board is another eye catch for the new design, while the color of flat army green is surely a head turner.

Thanks to MMPC for their support and them believing in us. We can’t wait for the next show to be working with you guys!
